I'm plenty good with electrical stuff to rewire my truck, but I don't plan on paying anybody $300 for some wire and connectors. The only problem is, if I rewire it with the wire selection from the auto parts store, I'll have a truck full of wires that are all colored the same. Anybody know where to buy wire with multiple striped patterns?
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 27-Mar-02 AT 00:10 AM (EST)]Unless you can't get another wiring harness out of a wrecked truck.
I have a cheaper & more efficient way of coding your wire.
Here it is:
They have different coloured electrical tape on the market.
Green,Blue,Red,Yellow,White,plus the ever present Black.
Take your tape and use small stripes and wrap it around the wire.
You can make any combination of colours on a neutral base colour like black.
Green
Green/yellow
Green/red
Green/Blue
Green/white
and so on.
How do you like that idea?

I think that removing the harness from annother FORD is the best way to go.FORD is good at keeping there color codes the same from year to year. Also many of the plugs such as headlight and turn signal will
work.
