? about TSB and cost
Hi.
I have a '04 Ranger 4Liter 4X4 57k. I just bought it. I have the cold hesitation/bucking problem described in previous post.
I understand there is a TSB regarding this. My question is the dealer supposed to charge for this?
I called one dealer and he said bring it in and have a Tech diagonose it $79.95. They also said reflashing the PCM (computer i take it) is $79.95.

So with 57k I guess I pay. Is $80.00 reasonable?

No, $80.00 is not reasonable. But that's what the dealer charges. 
If it were mine, and if I were relatively sure about the problem being the one described in the TSB, then I'd tell the dealer to skip the diagnosis and just do the reflash. You can always bring it back for a diagnosis another time if you so choose.

I like your idea Rockledge; I'll get the PCM reflashed and take it from there.
If I drive it, on my way to work, hesitates and bucks for the 1st 4 city blocks then clears ups. Same thing when leaving after work.
Can anyone verify if this sound like the symptoms, and verify if the reflash worked.
