gauge problems

Hi! I have a 1969 F-250 4x4. I am having a problem with the gauges. For some odd reason, when i'm driving, all the gauges will move back and forth from the lowest point to the highest point. The gauges all do this at the same time/rate/ you name it. Its like 4 windshield wipers going back and forth. They don't do it really quick, but fairly slow. What is the problem?
Thanks
Ben from Montana

That's something that is caused by the Instrument cluster voltage regulator going bad.

It has to pulse at a certain speed or the gauge needle will flip back and forth.
If it is doing it rapidly,it is usually a instrument cluster grounding problem.

Thanks for the info. So if it is the instrument cluster voltage regulator, where can I buy this part? Also where is it located? I assume on the back of the instrument cluster, but I want to be sure before I go to opening things up.
Thanks

I might have one here for a 67-68 for a few bucks or you could go to any old car/truck at the wreckers and get one.
Yes they are on the back of the cluster.
