i have a 03 f350 6.0L 4x4 duallie, i was curious how a 5 wire harness under the dash hooks up to a 4 wire brake controller and the small oval looking plug in the dash below the radio under the temp controls for the cab, what is that really? i pulled it out and there was a 7 wire harness connected to it, i cant remember what all the wire colors were but i know that it looks like its a factory installed harness, it is wrapped in red tape also, if anyone knows, please help me on both problems i have, thanks!
If I am reading this correctly I can help you out. You can buy the plug that will plug into the plug behind the dash. The 4 wires from you controller will match the 4 wires on the plug you buy. I think there may be a ground wire on the plug as well.
ok well the plug has 5 wires & the controller has 4 so where does the 5th wire go? next i know where the plug is but on the dash there is a small oval cover in the dash. well behind this cover is a plug with 7 wires? what is this plug go to?
My brake controller hooked up with 5 wires. Depending on the controller you use the colors will match or not with the Ford wire harness. My harness was in my glove compartment and hooked up behind the wire access panel on the right side by the radio controls. Make sure you check your controllers installation instructions and wiring guide to ensure you match the correct wires.

Is it right next to the cubby hole on the lower driver's side? If so I believe that is where the switch for adjustable pedals goes, and I think that is probably what the wires are for.
thanks guys, i got the harness from the dealer and each wire is labeled so i should be good and the small wire harness near the cubby hole, it does sound like it would be for a electric pedal adjustment switch. thanks for the help!
