Ok ill try to explain this the best i can.. i have a 04 f350 6.0. around town runs kick *** but if i get on the high way it will cruise good 70 -80-90 mph but as soon as i get off the highway and slow down i lose power no trottle responce and it dies. it pulls a different injector code every time. If i clear the codes it will (most times) go right back to normal . The first one was number 3 i replaced the injector didnt do it. Replaced the fuel filters 3 times replaced the fuel pump changed the oil twice in a week.. going on advice for all these things. heres a few things some diesel guys said to check. coating on the inside of the fuel tank flaking and f... up the lines.
ficm bad... egr valve/cooler. anything anyone can tell me would be awesome. I think it has something to do with fuel and people are telling me it might have something to do with oil being that the injectors are oil fired.... I NEED YOUR HELP.... PLEASE Its making me crazy
You should have a plastic tank, so it won't be the fuel tank coating issue. I'm pretty sure that was only with the E series vans.
What kind of fuel filters are you using? I doubt it is a filter problem, but I would definitely suggest sticking to the Ford/Navistar filters with the aqua block sleeve (can't remember if they are Racor filters or not).
How many miles are on the truck? If it's under 100k you might still be under warranty, and this sounds like it might be a problem to let a good tech try to track down.
the truck has 130,000 miles so ford doesn't cover it . The first time i changed the oil seemed to help it didnt act up for a couple days then going down the highway 75-80 it just lost power again and died in the fast lane.. this thing is killing me. just changed the oil again so IDK
Most IH dealerships do not handle the fuel filter because it is a "ford specific" filter and they have to get it in case lots. They do have the oil filter 1840752C91. It fits all the 6.0 truck/bus engines. It runs about $20 and from Ford it is about $27.
The ford fuel filter # is FD-4604
I had the issues listed in the first two broadcasts listed and it took the teck 2 days to repair.
