I haven't had a chance to talk to Curtis yet, but we can always meet there and then move to other areas if we want to, unless Curtis would want to just start out somewhere else.
we can go to lookout point, that is fine, for out of towners we can meet at the gas station up here west of me, and drive out from there, I can bring things to do for the girls. No big deal there. Also, if it is raining... where do we want to meet? same place? I will definately take the time to go up to lookout point and scope it out tomorrow.
I will be thinking of an alternative location in case it doesn't work out to use that location/ or raining.
Ok, so here is the dealio...I scoped out look out point.. It would be ok if we were just going to be there for an hour or so, but no bathroom facilities, and when i was there, everything was wet, and with this humidity, nothing is going to dry out, so we would all be wet ourselves.
This got me to thinking.. Randolph or Del's is the best option. I hate to put a burden on AJ, and Del, so I believe Randolph would be a wise choice. it has a large shelter house, and a small one,(don't know if they finished the small one yet) But my point is that it is big enough that it should always be dry in the center, or near dry. after all, this is lake day.. why would everyone need to be completely dry. In addition to that, it has restroom and water facility + playground facility( I will just bring bathing suits and towels for them), and everyone knows where it is at.
Another bonus is that it is free to use, and park. Not exactly the lake experience we were planning when Duane came up with this cool idea, but now that the weather came in... this should be a good second to that. after all we aren't just a bunch of people we want to see in a bunch of speedos...We are just here to enjoy the company.
Unfortunately i won't be able to make it my check was small and having to pay rent and cell bill it leaves me with very little. I hope ya'll have a great time tomorrow.
That sounds good to me, I really appreciate you takin the time to scope things out for us, made it alot easier on me. Do we wanna still meet at the gas station then?? Also, PM me your cell # just incase, all that stuff is still locked in my puter lol.
Thomas, sorry you couldn't make it man, we all know how that paycheck thing can be.
The meet at my house is still open, but the Randolf thing would work for me also. Do we want to meet at the gas station (Dara's) by the road that goes across the dam on hiway 24(Tuttle Creek Blvd)? What time? 10:30ish.
Manhattan is a bit out of the way for folks driving up from Wichita. And I think there is gonna be a TOTGTG so folks might want to bring out a Ford truck. Just lettin folks know.
Course it's not far from where 77 connects to 24 and the 13 and 24 intersection.
U bring up a good point, I don't want to make U guys drive out of your way. If we were going to have it at lookout point then it would be just outside of manhattan, but since I went and threw the wrench in everyone's plans, with a different location....
Not a whole lot further going through Manhattan with Ft Riley being located where it is.
