I put this in "Appearance and dress up" category also,But I figured I'd get more response from here.
I want to paint my grey door panels black,But I'm alittle nervous about doing it with out alittle feedback from someone who has done it before.I'm good with painting them myself,It's just I'm not sure how it's going to turn out or even how long it's going to last.I just don't want to wreck my truck. So my question is......
Have any of you done this before? If so is the end result worth it?Does it last?
I changed the complete interior color of my truck using spray bombs and am very pleased with the results.be sure whatever you are painting is spotless clean I used a scuff pads and then wiped everything down with denatured alchol before I painted. It has been on for nearly a year now and I have had no problems.Be sure and use a paint that is designed for interior parts (door panels and dash) for best results.I used Mar-hyde interior paint on mine..
Second the Mar-Hyde. I did parts of my previous Excursion with it. Great stuff!
I've also used Krylon Fusion on many different vehicles and applications. It is great stuff, too. But I've not used it for interior parts due to the limited color choices. I would imagine the Satin black would look good on your door panels.

Interested as well. My interior is tan/dark tan (i guess) and would like to change it up to a Grey and black, maybe even black and red... Of course the leather seats would have to be recovered.
Sorry guys,I no longer have the truck and dont have any pics. Its not hard to do,just have to use a slooow steady approach and pay a lot of attention to detail.
Use SEM. Great stuff! The only problem that I have seen in doing this is that you will rub the paint off the panels on any wear areas such as the top of the door panel where you usually rest your arm.
