For under 2% ?
I would find something more enjoyable to do with my time rather than spending the afternoon with a couple of tire monkeys because of a 2% final drive ratio difference.
I'd also call the retailers customer service line to file a complaint.
I've run into something else recently that you should consider. My 2000 is AWD all-the-time, there's no switch to disable it (only AWD/4Hi/4Lo). If you get a flat (like I did) and find out that your spare tire is the stock size and your other tires are larger than stock, you may get drive train binding issues (like I did). According to my local Ford dealer, it's really bad (and it depends on which one goes flat, apparently the worst one is the right-rear). I'm not sure this is the case, they could be blowing smoke up my a**, but if you don't ask them to fix their mistake, they should give you a free spare so your spare matches the rest of your tires!
When I had my tires replaced, I went with the stock size (255) and I don't think I noticed a difference in power or mileage. The bigger tires looked cooler, though.

Well, Big 10 Tires has been vindicated. I talked to the manager at 7AM yesterday morning and he agreed that the 255s should have been put on. He said he’d take care of it, and by 10AM he called me and let me know the vehicle was ready. Now, can anyone recommend some good tow mirrors? I tow a TT wily my Expe and the really cool electric/telescoping **** mirrors are only available on the F-250s. Hmmm…I wonder if the bolt patterns are the same?
I picked up those mirrors today in camping world when I picked up the new TT. They worked great on the way home! The Expe did a great job towing my new 6000 lb toy home as well.
