i just took this out of my truck and need to replace it what do i ask for?

none of that stuff is still in the truck. it has a cummins diesel in it now. but i know its a ford t case?

Post the Ford ID code off the transfer case.
The code will be one of the following:
E3TA-7A195-FA, or FB, or GA, or GB, if the T/C is original to your 1983 F350.
There's no code in the VIN, or on the Certification Label (or Warranty Plate) that tells what the transfer case is.
What is your truck, a 1983 F350 as your profile sez?
If so...I'll see what transfer case the parts catalog calls for. EDIT: Catalog calls for this > >
BORG-WARNER MODEL # W1345 Transfer Case. B-W case ID number: Either: 3FA, 3FB, 3GA or 3GB (depends on engine size, axle ratio).
