drop in boost
i have a 2001 f350 cc drw. running a 40 horse tow tune. i was going to sturgis, when leaving our last stop i noticed that we were running only 4 to 6 lbs boost. we had been runnung 10 to 12 and up to 20 when it would kick down going up a hill. i had two small holes in my boost guage tube, thought it was fixed. on our way home we came to the first big hill, truck kickdown, boost went to 20 and slowly fell off till it hit 8 pounds. we ran the rest the way with boost between 4 and 8. i will take it and drive it today to see if it is working. only code is 603KAM. any help or ideas would be great

up pipes leak at the back of the turbo??? look for black soot around the pipes..if it looks good..pull the air cleaner tube from the turbo..on a cold motor grab the nut holding the wheel...is there any up and down side to side play??? then try to pull and push in on the nut...does it move??? very little up and down is ok.. .001 to .002....no in and out at all.....also make sure there is no bent or chipped blades on the wheel..should be clean with sharp edges...
