i have an 01 f150 s crew 4x4 5.4l auto trans it has exhaust intake and 35 inch tires i am debating between an edge programmer or hypertech which one is better???? i wants alot more torque and power. whats the best way to get more power out of these trucks minus supercharger or nitrous???

Get some gears to make up for the tires - if you haven't already. Then get a programmer so you can adjust your tire size making your speedo correct, while giving you a bump in power and making your trans shift much better.

+1 on gear that will be the best bang for the buck on performance.

I'd pick the edge over hypertech but if it was my choice I'd buy a SCT Xcal 2 or 3 with custom tunes after I changed the gears. Those tall tires are killing your power. Also don't expect a huge power increase from a programmer on a gas motor.

If your in a hot area i heard electric fans really help from losing power and with a slight bit of fuel mileage increase

Although it is more expensive.. you would notice a VERY BIG difference if you got gears. While a tuner would give you gains.. it would be small, esp. with those big tires.

You would be better off to save up for gears, than to spend $300+ for something you might not be happy with.

E-fans are nice but won't deliver a performance increases with the package you want. You mention you want a lot more preformance, for that you will need to dig deep. Gears will be the cheapest but they still have a price on the highway.

I didnt say that e fans would deliver performance but the belt driven fan in my truck steals alot of performance outa my truck when it kicks on. I agree with the 4:56 gears that will be my next mod.

They (cams and ported heads) will increase power in the upper rpm range, but will kill some low end torque.
