I have to agree there was many times when one of our sons came home from school and said when they went to computer class to do their work there was **** on the computer.
I can remember having to go to a parent teacher conference over this subject. My son had typed in J Lo in the search bar. Well,,what came up was not within school guidelines,so he was in big trouble. I di everything I could to make the teacher happy, and when I thought things were going to work out,the principal walked in,,,He was not happy! We both tried to explain what was happening,,that we were doing research on the effects of **** on the computer,,he wasnt buying,,,she got canned and I cant go within 500ft of the school! I have to remember,,next time,,,not on top of the computer!
Yeah we had to sign the same paper it doesn't stop a kid from pulling **** up.
Don't know how big your town/city is. But our school is kinda weird. Our town has 244 people and the school k-12 have about 90 kids all together in it. The computer room in the high school has about 12-15 computers and the one in the elementery school has about 10-12 computers. Our school has only one principal for the hole school and no vice-principal. The teachers are always watching the kids. When the kids get into trouble I get a phone call and I know before the kids get home.
that we were doing research on the effects of **** on the computer,,he wasnt buying,,,she got canned and I cant go within 500ft of the school! I have to remember,,next time,,,not on top of the computer!
I mean at school of course. It's great if your kids have access to a computer at home, and they certainly need supervision.
My point is that they are not learning anything of much value playing on computers at school. They are not using applications that will help them get a job. Homework should not require a computer for the most part, and if it does the library has access for the underprivledged kids. I'm just saying that giving every kid a notebook computer in class is wasting everyones time, and that they are NOT required to get an education. K-12 is not PC job training, other than elective subjects.
If there is no teacher, no one is in the computer room, it is locked till the teacher shows up. And no the teacher is not watching **** either.
Oh no,the teacher I was talking about didnt watch **** either. How do I know? Well, she had no clue what I meant when I started using some of my best lines on her,,like,,hey baby,,lets play cherrios,,,she said,,,you want to play cereal? I said yup,,,I will,,oh wait,,almost forgot this was in the GNAC,,, Anyway,,,she had no clue what I was talking about,,,so I said look,,,do you want me to spell it out for you? She said,,,yes,,Please! So, typed it out on her keyboard,,,,,no handed!
We have a group of furniture factories that closed down the City could get them for a song clean them out,and rehab all the building which is about 4-6 buildings put windows in redo the plumbing and make the classrooms here and have enough room for all the grades in one place near the center of town.
I haven't seen too many sports programs suffering. I think perhaps that's where some of the waste is. And probably in the buildings too.
In many cases...@ the high school level anyway, much of the "sport" funding is provided through fund raisers, concessions, etc...And I can tell you for a fact that our school district only funds our 50 member drill team...$1,500.00 a year. Period. And we are National Champions in competitive dance and recognized as one of the top 5 drill high school drill teams in th entire state of Texas. Our budget last year, which included a trip for all the girls to NYC $ 186,000.000. We paid or raised every stinking dime of it.
While am on a bit of a rant here. My 16 year old daughter is also on a Championship private dance studio team. My annual cost for the two teams with competition travel, costumes, choreography, private studio tuition, ..the list goes on....is approximately $ 10,000.00 a year.
That does not include the hundreds of volunteer hours my wife and I each spend. Last year my wife chaired the high school drill team fund raising committee and I the prop design and build committee.
I estimated that our local high school various sports, band (also Nationally recognized), drill team, and all the other clubs an organizations....cash flowed over a million dollars thru fund raising. And our community is a population of approx. 55,000.
The next time you see high school kids standing on the curb with a carwash sign. Stop by and say hi. Give 'em $ 5, $ 10, or $ 20 bucks. Tell them good luck and thanks for representing your town / school. Doesn't really matter if you actually get your car washed.
The car wash won't last near as long as the $ 5.00 worth of feel good will.
