I drive on gravel quite abit, and my trailer plug, and wiring take a beating from the stones. I was just curious if anyone else out there has this problem. What I did is take some of that corregated wiring protector stuff, and wrapped electrical tape around it.
It works for awhile but then the stones take their toll.
I've never had this problem because I have an aftermarket bumper and my plug is in one of the license plate light holes.
I'd say, make sure the wiring is tucked up nice and high, then get a piece of sheet metal that you can attach to the plug holder. Bend the metal under the plug, then back up behind it as high as you need to go to create a deflector for the back side of your plug. Make sure you leave some clearance between the injector and back of the plug so you don't pinch the wires.
Hey preppypyro, I've seen this used in the past with much success for protecting the actual trailer plug. Take a look .. it might work for you. Good Luck!
