If you want to do it right and have no problems with it, just buy the new parts. BTW, Four Seasons is a good brand, I've used them myself and have had good results.
If you had a compressor die, here are the parts you have to buy, and they must be either new or rebuilt.
Accumulator (all the new ones are compatible with both R-12 and R-134a), compressor, manifold hose set, orfice tube. All other parts can be flushed.
Do not use a mineral oil based system. R-134a works plenty well, and if in doubt, use Freeze-12. HC based refrigerants are not legal, are potentially dangerous, and are not really compatible with the parts in the system.
