plan to replace the turn signal switch in the steering column. i have a factory level service manual and was wondering if there are any quirks i need to know prior to digging in. the truck is a 78 f100/auto trans. the switch is a fomoco service part.
The plug at the end of my 77 F150 was made to come apart by removing a red plastic piece that was inserted in the center of the plug. No special tools were required. I got this information out of my Helm's manual at the time. Haven't had the truck for 8 years now. Make sure to make yourself a diagram before taking it apart. Also note as which way you are looking at the plug when making the diagram.
I usually trace the plastic plug part and draw circles inside denoting the holes ,with arrows pointing from the colour code of the wire to them, in pen.
