Adding aftermarket tachometer

I would like to add an aftermarket tach to our '94 F-350. Pep Boys has a small one with about 3" gauge face. I had installed one of these previously on an '86 Suburban I owned (in fact, the one I traded in on the F-350). It was pretty straight forward to install. There was a connection marked "TACH" on the distributor cap (HEI, coil-in-cap). Is there a similar connection on the external coil for the Ford trucks too? It is usually no problem to find switched 12V power, ground and the instrument lamp feeds, I just don't want to be looking all over trying to find the coil to ground tap for the tach.
Any help from you guys would be appreciated.

yes, textruckr. The tach trigger wire will always connect to the negative coil terminal. It will be marked either - (minus) or tach.

Thanks for the reply.
Will there be a pinout or male spade terminal on the coil itself, or should I look for either of those markings (the "-" or "tach") on one of the connectors that feeds the coil?
