So does any tire company out there make mud tires in E range. I've been running D's and they seem to not last very long and cup out the front tires pretty fast. I really want the Toyo open country MTs I don't want a super loud tire though and i hear those are not loud but I'm not sure if they make them in E.
I have Toyo Open Country MTs. I've put 2k miles on them this year, so far they aren't bad noise wise. With the deadener I've added, they sound just like my BFGs.
BFG ATs in 315/75r16 handles 3195 lbs at 50psi
Toyo MTs in same size handles 3860 lbs at 65psi.
So the Toyos handle 665 pounds more per tire, I've got to believe that they are "e rated". The weight ratings are a lot like the speed ratings, mostly a range used to compare one tire to another. And just like horse power, it can be tweaked to make one look better or just barely make it to the next level.
Thanks, Yea i'm pretty set on the toyo's Mt in a 35x12.6x18 just picked up some new rims can't wait to get some nice tires on them. the toyo website showed that some are E rated but on the canadian toyo site it didnt show them as E rated. so hopefully i can getthem up here.
I'd look for something over 3400, which the Toyo MTs might be your best bet. You can go to Toyo's website and look at whats available in the MT. I know the 315/75/16 is 3860 at 65psi as stated above. Thats a lot better than the Toyo AT I have now in the same size, its only rated at 3195 at 50psi and feels a little soft under the diesel front end.

How do you find the wear is on the AT's, thats what i've been running now in a 295/75/16 for only a year now and they wore out very bad and the tires before that were michelin LTX's and they lasted very good. so i hope the MTs last me alot better then the ATs considering they want 350 bucks a tire for 35x12.5x18
I don't know how many miles my ATs had when I got them, so I couldn't say about the wear. I do know the MTs are made with a harder compound and people usually get really good mileage out of them.
I think MTZs will be my next tire in addition to 18" wheels. How is the road noise and durability with them? I'll probably get a 305/70/18.
I run the 36-15.50-20 and the noise is not bad at all. much quieter then my samper SSR's were. I like them so much, Im gonna go with 38-15.50-20 as soon as these are worn. Cant say a bad thing about them (except price, $400+ each)
