I live near the Claycomo Assembly Plant, the last 2 weeks i have not seen any trucks in the lots awaiting transfer out. This weekend i saw a lot of 09' models sitting out in the lots.

I work at the Claycomo plant we were off last week while they were solving some vendor issues from the word I have heard Ford is not planning to release the 09's to dealer lots until Oct. but I can tell you this truck has some awesome options, pop out bed step's tailgate step, stereo's and allot more and the interior is as comfortable as your own living room.

Ford Dealers still don't deal

I just tried to trade in my 2005F150 Screw for a new 2008 F250 Sc with a diesel. Sticker on the SD was 47500. I owe 13000.00 on my truck . they would pay off my truck and sell me the F250 for 47500. What a deal. I asked them if they could take anything off the F250 They said they would not budge off the MSRP. Good job to the Ford dealers in my area. Lucky I hate GM or I would go get a deal from them. I hope they sit on their trucks for a year.

No surpise there. There are row(s) of SD's on the dealer's lots in my area. I haven't tried to make a serious deal as I'm not in the market yet.

I think that Ford and or the dealers are betting that when the F-150's are gone and before the '09's arrive in a steady stream, the SD's will move. That of course puts the dealer back in control and I simply won''t deal that way.

Asking $47,500 for a SD is simply rediculous. I would go back and ask $27,500 for yours. Then you can each laugh at each other.

Dealers in my area are offering $12,000 off.

Tell your dealer he's smoking something really good, and he's gonna be smoking it until he goes out of business.

I stopped by our two local dealers last week to see what kind of inventory they have. I counted over 100 F150's on the bigger lot and they weren't willing to deal on them.
I can guarantee they will sit for another year or more at the price.

Ford will have to have a 1/2 off clearance sale like Dodge to clear out these trucks.

Who's going to buy an 08 when they can wait for the 09's to come out and sit on the lots the same way?

There is basically no difference in the 08's and 09's except for the tranny and the slightly redesigned interior.
It still has the worst powerplant of any v-8 made.

100? Wow, what's Ford going to offer to move these units now? They're tried just about everything. As has GM and Chrysler.

Heh...someone who doesn't know squat....if you say so! It's my JOB to tow trailers around...since the beginning of the year I've logged over 80,000 miles TOWING A TRAILER...

Anyway...not gonna drag this into an argument...but I'm very excited to see how the 5.4's gonna do in front of a 6 speed auto.....In a '250 it's rated up to 18,000 lbs GCVWR, so there's still potential here...especially if they can coax a few more horsies out of it...

Not so. The '09 should be a "better" truck all the way around. With the available e-lock option in the rear...to the brake controller. Increased towing ability...and the bed extender. Oh...don't forget the step in the tailgate.

IMO...it seems that the '09 is really going to be a "solid" 1/2 ton Full size truck for FORD.

A trucks worth does not just need to be measured by the size of the engine...but the whole package. Just my .02 here...

Hello people i browse the forums quite a bit just reading the threads. but i just had to join when i see this above quote.

I looked into the 08-09 comparisons and you buddy have no idea what the hell you are talking about. The 09 truck is a vast improvement over the 08 in every way. Not just the tranny and interior. There are hundreds of improvements over the 08 but things that caught my eye were the power deploy running boards, heated/cooled seats, trailer brake controller, trailer sway control, 2nd gen sync, extra strength chassis, better tranny and engine output, better mpg, more room in rear off cab, side bed steps, rear tailgate step, cable lock system, better interior design, better suspension, better towing capacity, quieter interior and thats not including all the hundreds of small improvements that have been made all over the truck. Also who says its the worst powerplant of any truck??? the Sales don't lie and old trucks being on the road that have done well over 200k miles proves the engines run well and for a long time. Very rare i see any old dodges, Chevy's, and Toyota's about that have done them kind of miles.

Right just had to have my little rant.

Welcome to our awesome site and thanks for the rant. Rants are awesome, especially when they are formed from educated opinions. However, there are many things that are of no interest to me especially if they are included in an options package that I 'm expected to pay for, such as:

Heated cooled seats
power running boards
tail gate steps
bed steps
sync

What exactly are the hundreds of other improvements that the '09 was given? Do you allude that the '08 was a POS in comparison to the '09?

Not looking for a pissing contest, simply to become educated on the '09 mystery machine.

From what I've seen, the biggest thing you're going to notice will be the 6-speed transmisison.

Other than that, most of the cool stuff is just add-on goodies that will only interest a few. I'm particularly interested in the TowCommand brake controller, the tailgate step, and the bigger crew cab.

But, as stated earlier...when someone bashes the 5.4 as the "worst V8 powerplant made"...kind of gets me going....

It simply irritates the crap out of me when these engines are bashed on this site. 24 years in the Coast Guard taught me that most complain just to complain. Having lower HP / TQ doesn't make it the worst engine in it's class.

If the 5.4L really is the worst engine, I challenge you bashers to constructively tell me why, and tell me why the competetors engines are better.

We all vent on this site and have that right but it gets old reading about how crappy our stuff is when it really isn't.
