Fuel pump rebuild kit?
Besides...I have not located a rebuild kit anywhere anyway.
I am just dreading the cost of the fuel pump. I would imagine with it being obsolete and only a few available it will be costly.
You might check with Dennis Carpenter (DC) to see if he has anything. My DC catalog is for 1948/56 only.
I shoulda picked up all his catalogs when I attended the Supernats in TN...what the hell was I thinking?
I was in the hospital (I think) or recovering or something at the time.
I even missed the Ozarks Run which is sponsored by my own truck club. I was home bound and on I.V.s at the time.
Bill Ford was there. He works for Dennis Carpenter now. Sy was there from Mid-fifty too. Not bad for a small show.

I had to fly east to the SuperNats, Yorba Linda CA is around 30 minutes away...depending on freeway traffic.
DC & MidFifty both had huge inside displays at the SuperNats, only a booth each at the Western Nats.
I was surprised that MidFifty had such a small display at the Western Nats...they're located near Kingman AZ, about 300 miles east of LA.
I did have the foresight to pick up a MidFifty catalog, and another from Carolina Classics when I was in TN.
I am just thankful the fuel pump did not go out a week and a half ago. I was a little over 4 hours from home in it (Miami, OK) at a big cruise in. I drove it 9 1/2 hours in one day (there and back).
I wont the long distance award....

Did y'all stop by the General Store frequented by Bonnie & Clyde?
The store is owned by a pal of mine who used to live in Santa Monica CA.
The 1933 Wedgewood stove in that store used to grace my kitchen.
I donated it several years ago. Another pal hauled it to OK.
It was in front of a grocery store (Marvin's discount foods) between some fast food restaurant and a real restaurant of some sort.
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
This is the number Bill gave me as well as what Green Sales shows in their books.
Everything is the same on this fuel pump as mine, except it has a paper filter (mine does not have a filter at all-missing!!!), and the bale that holds the glass is shaped differently.

Oh...it is also clean and not covered in gunk, grease, and dirt.

Thanks again Bill. I will go ahead and order it Monday.
Ford started using them in circa 1961...for the simple reason that once the paper filter got dirty, it was time for a new one.
The original ceramic filters could be cleaned up and used again...and again...and again.
Ford like other automakers is in the parts biz, where the REAL profits come from. One can't make a buck on filters if they never need to be replaced!
I hope that takes a while. I have a clear disposable inline filter just under the tank about 8" from where it comes through the floorboard. I could not find any sort of filter in the system and stuck that in there when I got it on the road as insurance.
I am going to put the old pump on a shelf with my other used parts. Who knows...I might break the glass or something somewhere down the line.
Not like I have a ton of old parts for vehicles laying around. In fact the only parts laying around are for my old ranger (some B II stuff as well) that are going to the scrap yard when I get around to it.
By the way, will the glass bowl interchange from 56-60? I will be E-mailing McDonalds this evening. I wanted to tear it down before I ordered the rebuild kit that Numbers looked up for me to see if it was still a good core. One little broken piece of glass threw me for a loop. It is so good to have a community of folks that understand crisis such as this!
I know how clumsy I am.
Bill might know if they are available new (They probably are), but here is two of them and some brackets on ebay.
eBay Motors: 292-312 Ford Y-Block - small lot of engine parts-used (item 320284687490 end time Aug-15-08 19:17:17 PDT)
Green sales was a lot cheaper (2/3 the price) on the pump than Mcdonalds, but both of them has them in stock. Both companies promptly replied to the E-mails. I can't hear on phones...so that is how I judge customer service.
Okay, the whole truth, my wife's family reunion was this weekend and it took a lot out of me being on good behavior for so long a period. I could almost blame my mother-in-law for the broken glass, Ha-Ha! You would think after 30 plus years of marriage I would have her people figured out but I don't! She sure is worth it though! But it still takes a lot out of a fella!!!
Wall to wall kids...who needs carpeting.
I understand the panicking. I panicked when mine went out and no one carried a replacement or kit that I could find. That is the first time I have not been able to find a part I needed. Not this time!
Bill helps me with numbers a lot, but I can usually find the parts from them.
Here came Bill to the rescue...once again. I will be getting my correct part sometime soon.
