upper ball joint
Dana 44, with upper and lower ball joints.. easy to grease the lower...how the heck to i grease the upper without removing the entire wheel assembly and front axles? There is no access to get to the nipple on the grease fitting on the upper joint. Any ideas?

I just replaced mine. The new ones came with a straight zerk fitting for the lower joint and a 90 degree fitting for the top joint. The problem came when i put the axle shaft back into the axle. If i rotated the shaft the u-joint would come in contact with the 90 degree zerk fitting. So after rumiging around in the packaging i noticed that the ball joint also came with a plug fitting. So i put the 90 zerk on there installed the knuckle back onto the axle and then pumped it full of grease. I then had to pull the 90 degree zerk back off and screw in the plug. I can see this being a pain in the ****, but thats the olny way that i could see to get the grease gun in there was with the 90, but i did all this with the axle shafts out of the axle. Not really a solution, but more of a point in the right direction.
