E4OD or Mazda 5spd manual?

'92 F150, 5.0, 5spd manual 4x4. After about a year of looking, I finally found a parts truck for my '92 restoration project. However, it's got the E4OD automatic and mine has a 5spd Mazda tranny. Other than the obvious convenience of having an automatic transmission, which is the better quality transmission, the Mazda or the Ford E4OD? The trucks are identical other than the transmissions, so I can use either one I want. I'm leaning toward the E4OD just because I'm getting too lazy to change gears.

The E4OD in it's infancy had issues. There have been updates to them, the latest version is still a bit of a slush box. It is EEC controlled, and as such, uses a different computer than the M5OD unit. The M5OD is a hydrualic clutch unit, it has it's quirks as well. So, it's a case of user preference I guess. Go after what you want.
