aftermarket tach
After the installation, I start the engine an the tach needle is going crazy!!
Power source is O.K.
Good ground.
Tach signal picked up directly on the tach wire on the distributor (green/yellow).
The reading is almost 1000 rpm to high and unstable. There's a switch on the tach to select the # of cylinder of the engine, and it's set to 8, obviously.
Is my tach signal had to be picked elsewhere in the electrical system?
Thanks for the help.
This is what I did on my Sun Super Tach, when it started doing the same thing you describe, and it fixed it.
Good luck.
