Power Booster

I bought an aftermarket powerbooster for my 66 ford pickup and the link is too long and there is way to much to shim. I was thinking of swapping it out with the other link from my previous master cylinder. How would I go about doing this?? thanks

Can you not just cut it to length?

Cut and re weld? I thought of that but was recomended not too. If there was an accident and the pushrod was faulty I could get reamed.
