I have a 1990 F150 XLT 4.9l E4OD. When I move the blower switch lever to the high position the blower does speed up. It works fine on low and the intermediate positions, but hi is the same speed as the 2nd intermediate position.Thank you for any help.
Thanks Quicklook2. I'll be out of town for a few days so I'll check it this weekend. Hopefully the heat will break by then and it wont be so miserable outside.
The resistor block should only be used for the lower speeds, with high speed being straight through, right? I would check the resistor block, but don't rush out and buy a new one before you can check the mechanism that selects which circuit the fan is powered through (fan speed switch? I don't know).
Was there a resistor that was visibly broken? It definitely makes sense if even high speed uses a resistor, which it may...I haven't looked. Not saying you were wrong; I was just curious.
Sorry about the confusion guys. What I meant was that the blower works fine on the low and 2 middle switch positions, but when you switch it to high it stays the same speed as the 2nd middle switch position. I still haven't had a chance to look at it because it rained all weekend. Thanks for the help.
