Wood Grain Steering Wheel

I'm trying to find a steering wheel similar to the one here: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/7...heel-swap.html on ebay but can't seem to find it.

Yeah, that e-bay ad disappeared, and I can't find the seller anywhere else. I was hoping to get one of those wheels when I got the money...

Just keep watching eBaY. The seller will probably list them again.

I can't remember not seeing them listed on eBaY for a long time.

Another solution is to do it a bit cheaper and do a wheel skin instead of a new wheel. I have one and found out about it from another list member. They look great and cover up an old crappy looking wheel for around $100.

You might think that they would feel bad to the touch, as I did, but it doesn't.

These folks have them; Wood Dash,Pillar Post,Rear Wing,Car Cover,Tonneau Cover,Car Bra,Grille Guard,Seat Covers for Car,Truck,SUV , Auto Accessories , Wood Dashes, Dash Kits, Wood Trim, Wood Dash Trim

It snaps onto the steering wheel. Once it is snapped on, it stays in place pretty well.

It covers the front of the steering wheel only though.

The wheels come with the same 3M adhesive that the dash kits do and would stick forever if you choose to. I did not use the adhesive, I just stuck it on with the backing in place because I wasn't sure it was going to work, or if I would like it. It looked surprisingly great and felt good to the touch, and I can still remove it if I wanted.

And as is always the case, if you wait long enough the prices come down or somebody sells them on eBay. When they first came out they weren't available from other sources as they are now as it seems by the posts here. So they are even more attractive now that they only cost $20.00!

But if you want the OEM look, it will have to pay for it and it is a bit more involved on the install. It can certainly be done in the driveway, but if you goof up and the airbag goes off, it can become a very expensive upgrade.

I really wanted the OEM wheel, but did not want to spend the $$$ as I want to upgrade to a F-350 Crew Cab soon and would rather spend the cash on that!

Good Luck looking,

hey all, the wheel i got was from ebay and it only cost me like $65. it was still brand new. even had the plastic and the seal around it. the one i got was actually for an 01 lincoln navigator. i did have to do some research because the seller only listed the part # and not the vehicle that it was for. i had my parts guy find the vehicle, pull the part # for he steering shaft and then compare it to the excursion. i do think that in 05, they did change the shaft diameter so you do have to be carefull what you buy.

I have one of these on my steering wheel. And I have been pretty satisfied with it because it makes the steering wheel much beefier to the feel. The Excursions have a rather small steering wheel on them IMHO, not much diameter to them. I also put one on my daughter's new Explorer too. She also likes the feel much better.

If I could find one of these navigator wheels for sale I would be on it like a fat kid on cake. Does ford still sell them at all? If they do I bet they are fantastically overpriced though!

There's one on eBay right now - items #190241261323. Hurry up it close in little or 28 hours. If you scroll down the auction page the seller has a store where he sells used steering wheels and parts.

My apologies if there is a FTE member who is bidding on this items and now you will have another bidder. That's why I noted that he sells wheels and parts.

Good luck,
