hey yall
it rained like heck here last night for about an hour. i go outside to my car today and drive away i hear a sloshing sound. i get to work and swing my driver side door back and forth and there must be 2 cups worth of water inside my door. no windows were open and door was closed tight. pet peeve with all the theft going on around here.
will it evaprorate? or cause me some electrical damage?
lol, ill look again...before i only saw one bolt on the bottom of the door...its killing me theres probably .5-1 inch of water running back and forth between my stop and go's
yeah, VERY bottom of the door on the outside of the gasket. Cars are made to have water run down the windows, inside the door and out the bottom through the drain holes...get some leaves, dirt or whatnot and they get plugged. There should be several under there.....just take something and shove up in there to clear them....if its really bad you will have to take off the door panel and get whatever is down in there out.
The slots on the back edge of the door are for air to exit the cab. There should be several horizontal slots at the very bottom where the skin of the door is folded around the inner skin. If they are plugged with leaves of dirt, you can use a popsicle stick or other probe to poke holes to let the water drain out. I would then either use a hose to flush the inside if the door, or remove the inner panels - both sides - and clean out the doors.
