I have a 2000 ford expedition and I have replace all gaskets in the manifold and check engine light still comes on, I have replace all egr part except for the egr position sensor. Does anyone know if that goes out as my check engine light stays on
P0401 Insufficient EGR Flow.
I would completely remove the throttle body and clean all ports out.
I would also check for a cracked elbow (trace from pcv valve to back of intake/throttle body) behind the intake manifold.
This thread is a good discussion on the P0401 DTC. Also, do not use aftermarket DPFE sensors. Motorcraft only as the aftermarket ones do not get updated like the new parts from Ford. Good luck!
Having a multimeter and vacuum pump/gauge will make quick work of the 401 code. Since you say you replaced most components in the system, I am betting you have a broken vacuum line or a clogged EGR passage.
I had a broken vacuum line up against the passenger firewall when I wrote these proceedures.
