I'm looking for lift kits, and choose the best is not that easy. I already have Aluminum wheels with 305/70R16 tires, what I think is a 33". I'm not planning to get new rims/tires, so I have to keep the lift between some limits to make sure my truck still looks good. Also with the lift kit I'm probably going to get wheel spacers, max 2" ones. My truck is a 2003 6.0, with a factory 2.5" block at the rear, and I have the 2" leveling hanger at the front.
I'm looking for a kit with replacement leaf springs for the front, because the old-ones seems kind of saggy.
My question is: how many inches of lift would still look OK with the existing wheels/tires + spacer without look like Inspector Gadgets car, and which brand would you guys recommend to get?
I'm checking out the Pro Comp 4" kit, I like the price of it, but I really would like some input from you guys.
i have been doing a lot of research on the best lift kits for our trucks since i am looking at getting an 8". everything that i have read says that pro comp and fabtech are the best lifts for our trucks. i wouldn't go anything over 4.5" if you've only got 33's. anything else and you'll look like you've got mickey mouse tires on a monster truck.

i like that! LOL
Yes, because of this reason I was looking for 4" lifts. I just found a 5" from Pro Comp, but it comes with a hanger and add a leaf, so I think that's out.
I've got more questions. They (Top Gun Customz) offer lifts for a one or a two piece rear drive shaft. What that means? And also, now I'm not sure about the factory 2.5" block. I checked it with a tape measure, it's 2.5" between the leafs and the shaft housing, but the block is 3.5 from the leafs to the skirt of the block. Which one is the actual size?
a kit that is for a two piece drive shaft has either a shim kit or blocks to drop the carrier bearing so the angle of the drive shaft is correct. those are for the larger kits though. anything over 6" i believe.
as for the block size i really couldn't tell ya. i was under the impression that it was measured from the top to the bottom of the block.
I run a 4in procomp on my '03 4x4 CC. I have 315 75 r16. there is absolutely no rubbing on the bumper, body, or fender wells.
My buddy has the same style truck and runs 315 75 r16 with no lift kit. he doesn't even have a leveling kit. it does rub a little bit on the bumper plastic but he cut that off.

I will try to post a pic of it for you
If you could please send me some pictures of your truck, that would be awesome. I know your tire size is a little bigger, but I could get an idea how a 4" lift looks like. My email is : dcaddi2@hotmail.com I do appreciate it!

Well, I still don't know the size of the block, but I'm just going to call it 2.5".
About the one or two piece drive shaft, I have a CC LB truck, so based on the wheelbase, I have a 2 piece shaft, and they dont offer a Pro Comp 4" , 2 piece shaft, 2.5" rear block kit. I emailed them, so we'll see.

Even with a 4" lift, they will look sort of small.
IMO, the best system for the 99-04 trucks is the Icon Vehicle Dynamics systems.
There is a 10% off sale on Icon (discounted during checkout).

Icon Vehicle Dynamics and Rize Industries would be the best systems available for the 05-08 trucks. CST and BDS are also very good systems.
For the 7"+ systems:
In terms of ride quality, design and warranty they are better than Fabtech and Pro Comp.
Not to mention that Icon and Rize are 100% made in the USA.
i didn't mean to step on toes here. i know you've helped me out on a lot of information that i was looking for. there is one thing that you have to understand though. you work for a vendor and are trying to sell your product. don't get me wrong i love the way the icon system looks! but i am having a hard time finding many people that run them or have installed them. honestly i am still looking at the icon 7" 4 link. it looks really appealing and is the way i'll probably go. i'm just still trying to get all the information on as many of them as i can. pros and cons. so i apologize if i made you feel like i was ignoring your advise on my previous post and thread.
