I have a 94 Ranger and want to add cruise to it, got it all figured out except which wire in the wiring harness has the tach signal.
The truck has coil packs on the engine, and I didn't see an output anywhere to hook into, so I'm assuming it needs to be spliced into the harness somewhere.
Are you using an aftermarket cruise control? I assume from your question that it is aftermarket and your system takes a primary side input. My suggestion is to find the ignition module that connects to the coil module. The last three pins of the ignition module should connect to the coil module. Either one of these three wires should provide a "tach type" input but it will only be 1/3 of the speed of a normal tach input. The other coil module wire is "hot" to the battery thru the power relay. I hope your system will be able to adjust properly. I can't guarantee that this will not burn up your module etc. I have no control over what that aftermarket speed control system contains.
