Smile oil and fuel filter change

Well i just finished my oil and fuel filter change. I was a little nervous to change the fuel filter cause it was the 33818 napa gold and I heard they were a bear to get sealed correctly, I did just as you all said and put oil on the gasket and no leaks

There sure was alot of junk in there though it wasnt hard to clean out I just took the heater out and flushed it with additive, Good as new

Also changed oil. First time I used synthetic, might be me but it sure seemed smoother.

Anyway thanks to all who answered my questions, can't wait till next week end and do the tranny filter and fluid

Glad things went well. I would have never known about that flat gasket on the NAPA filters if it wasn't for FTE either. Most claim the biggest sound difference with the synthetic comes in the winter. I guess you'll have to wait a while for that one.

Glad its not just me feeling it. I was thinking about doing the valve body before the fluid change. where do I get that and can a shade tree mechanic handle the install?

The valve body is part of the transmission that controls the vast majority of the shifting characteristics for our trucks. You can get a after market valve body that will improve shifting and longevity of the transmission. Two of the more popular ones are made by John Wood and BTS(Brians Truck Shop)
