Aw, Scott!! Surely you can get away for a little while? It'd be a shame not to get out at least once!
Well, I did just trade in my motorcycle for a 4-seater Mule. We hope to at least get away for a day, go check out some lakes I haven't been to yet. There's some up in the mountains that only have ATV trails going to them. We'll see, depends on how much we get done.
hell yeah... the bikes weren't getting many miles on them at all. We also just bought a new camper - a new toy hauler - so we decided we needed some toys to fill it with. The Mule is great for hauling the whole family in on camping trips. I also bought a set of street tires for it, so we use it around town and I ride it to work. Very cheap on gas, gets about 50 mpg or so. Lots of fun too!
Good Morning my Wyoming friends! Hope every had a great weekend! Hey, Scott, do you ever get up to Louie lake or any of the others up on South pass to fish?
We had a drag race at our little 1/8 mile track here in Evanston on Saturday. I took the ol' Ford out and reset the track record. Twice!!
Previous record was mine, at 6.97 @ 99.7mph from back in June. I made some tuning changes on the truck and clicked off a 6.84 @ 102.7mph first run out, even though I got buck fever and short-shifted into second. I made a few more tweaks and calmed my nerves a little and pulled off a 6.73 @ 103.2 on the second run. Just in time, too. Just a few runs later a Chevy powered dragster got a 6.97, and a Yamaha R1 bullet bike got a 6.99. Too late for them, I had already put the track record out of their reach.
Had a high RPM miss on the return road though, so I didn't get to make another pass. Whatever it is, I'll have it fixed for our race next month and I'm going to try to outrun those other brands just a little more. I think I can get a 6.6x with a few more small changes if the weather cooperates.
morning Wyoming. scouder that truck is flying. If i could get the air out of the motor as good as i get it in I would be happy. The hard part is finding headers for a 79 ford with a 460 that are bigger than 1 7/8".
