I have a 89 f-350 7.3 dump truck. I've had it not quite a year and the only gauge that works is the battery guage. The tach moves but is far from right. None of the other guages work. The wait to start light works also.
Is this a common problem or did I just get lucky? Also any suggestions to fixing the problem, I'd kinda like to know ahead of time when I'm going to be walking to the next gas station.
Have you checked the connections on the rear of the cluster........ all the fuses are good in the fuse box.......This must be a manual trans vehicle or is it a C6.

Could you get a C-6 in '89?
If so, only in the HD rigs?
I assume you asked the last line because the E40D wouldn't work right/at all with all of these electrical/gauge problems?
I haven't checked anything but the fuses yet and they were all good. I will check the back of the cluster and thanks for the starting point. sorry about not respondeing till now I was on vacation.
