If you have the trans you can bolt the trans to the engine without the torque converter and mount the starter, or if you have a manual trans bellhousing to bolt to it would be easier. Just an idea
I don't have a trans or a bell housing. I don't even have a vehicle to put the motor into. Someone is sending a cover plate, and also a flexplate with bolts etc.
I think that I can mount the starter to the cover plate without the bell housing. The starter has two ears. I think that one bolts to the bell housing thorught the cover plate and the other bolts through the cover plate to the threaded hole in the starter. I will put a nut where the bell housing should be. I may have to reinforce those holes with a piece of steel bhind the plate, but it should work without a bell housing.
I may have to buy a cheap set of 4V headers, then sell them on ebay if I can't use them on a vehicle.
