I hear it is possible to change the speedometer calibration on newer Ford Trucks (mine is a 1997 f-150). Anyone know how?

You need a WDS scan tool. It'll cost you about $10K.

You might want to check w/ Hypertech. Their Power Programmer *may* be able to accomplish the same thing for about $400.

Changing the speedo driven gear will change the reading on the speedo.

Hi, check the archives in the 96 forum they have a sequence for doing this don't know if it is the same for 97 but it might be. John

This trans. uses a VSS. There is no speedometer driven gear.
