If ya want a cb in your truck then go and get a cobra and put it in there. It may not be hid away but its easier to install just run co ax and power, mount antenna(s) and there ya go. Its also alot easier to find regular antennas(truck stop or flyin J). They are also cheaper.
Yes there are Ford Factory CB Radios. Even the early 80's trucks and cars could be ordered with them. As well as a 8 track too.
The one pictured in the E-pay advert is what's called a Aftermarket Replica.
Aftermarket Replica Radios were used by stereo shops and auto dealers alike to mimic the look and feel of a factory installed radio, without the "Ford" pricetag.
They are not built as well as the factory units usually.
For example I have a Aftermarket replica Am radio for my father's 1982 Toyota pickup, and a Replica of a AM-FM Radio that fits 1970-80's ford Cars and 80's Ford trucks. Both replicas are made by clarion in this case and look "very" simular to the factory installed unit.
Also, you don't have to use the factory CB/AM/FM antenna, with the factory CB, you can use a aftermarket antenna with it.
Also of note, the Ford Factory AM/FM/CB combo antenna is also avaliable aftermarket. Radio Shack, and Kragen used to sell these, so check them out. But Remember these are Aftermarket Replicas of the Factory antennas, so quality may not be as good as the Factory one.
What had a blue oval on it? The mic? 78-79 did not use the blue oval, they merely circled Ford in an oval like the mic in my picture. The mic in my picture is factory correct for 78-79.
