The older solenoid coils were "hot" and just needed the terminal grounded to close, while the newer ones want power applied to them. roger, are you suggesting that these old dogs will break? no, it can't be, it won't happen, i'm not bying it!! my truck has only let me down when i need it most! there's no doubt this ole girl has a mind of her own!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, they WILL break down. The difference is, when my truck breaks down, I'll know how to fix it. My wife's Malibu?? That's a different story!
