I recently returned from Iraq after 15 months. My wife didn't drive the truck much, it probably sat undriven since I came home for Christmas (sat 7 months undriven). The battery was dead, and after a jump it started right up.
After driving a few days, the CEL came on and the Scan Gauge gave the following codes. P0455, P2720, and C2148. The codes all come at the same time. I reset, checked the fuel cap, and about a tank of fuel later, the codes returned, all 3 at the same time. It has happened a few times since, usually when the fuel is about 1/2 or less.
I know the P0455 is a fuel system evap leak. I can smell fuel sometimes when I finish driving the vehicle (more than usual and quite strong at times) form the rear of the vehicle near the fuel filler. I will replace the fuel cap. Is there any other lines leading away or to the tank that I can check? When I remove the fuel cap, I hear no presure or vacuum released, so I know it is a valid code and leak.
The P2720 is a pressure CTRL solenoid D CTRL CIRC low. I have no idea what this means. Fuel injector system, possibly caused by the EVAP leak?
The C2148 also has be baffled. I find no reference to this anywhere.
I am hoping that what ever is causing the Fuel EVAP leak, is also causing the other codes and correcting for the P0455 will eliminate the other two.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I would like to add there were wasps living in the driver's door mirror. As soon as you would start the truck up, the wasps would all return to the mirror. When stopped, at Lowes or the mall, they would exit and resume what ever it is they do. Upon returning and starting the truck, they would once again return to the mirror for their ride home..........very strange. I believe, however, I have finally gotten rid of the suckers.
for the fuel oder check the charcoal canster it could have cracked from just siten around it on the fram rail buy the fuel tank area your should be a cylindrical shaped canister hop this help good luck and glade to see another brother made it home safe

It's highly unlikely the scanner got the actual DTC numbers wrong - the text they display might be wrong, but the number itself wouldn't be incorrect.
Leak detected in the evap system. Fuel injector voltage high (meaning, I assume, that the ground is floating) and what sounds like an evap solenoid not getting the right signal.
Could be a bad ground, I'd check there first.
The smell, could be a rusted-through filler neck, broken fitting/hose, etc. My Superduty had a broken fuel-pump retainer ring - don't know why, but there were branches and acorns up on top of the tank - looked almost like something decided to chew through it.
In your case, with the sitting so long, it very well could be something decided to eat through something.
The "leak detected" can be a sensor not getting a ground or supply voltage.
Bunch of things it could be... check everything out and get back to us
I replaced the fuel cap, and so fat (5 days), no CEL. I sold the Expedition since I bought a new 2008 F250 6.4 KR (what a truck!). I explained the CEL to the new owner and told him if it comes back on what to check. I don't think he is too concerned.
