Rear Spring Bushings

I have a 1995 Ford F-150 4x4 4.9 5spd. I'm in the process of replacing the rear spring hangers and have run into a problem. I removed the spring eye bushing and haveing a problem finding a replacement for the front eye of the spring. I ordered poly bushings from broncograveyard but the front bushings were too small. Then I got bushings from napa and advance and they are too small for the eye. Are there different size bushings or do I have an odd ball spring? Anyone have a source and a part number.
Thanks

Did you leave the metal part of the old bushing in place?

For most poly bushings you have to reuse the outer steel piece from the original bush.

The instructions in the Energy Poly part# 4.2140G bushings said the outer metal shell had to be removed. so I removed them before the bushings arrived. Any sugestions?

According to Energy Suspensions web-site there were two different styles of bushings for the rear springs. Molded rubber bushings where no outer steel shell was used and rubber bushings that had a steel outer shell.

Are you sure you purchased the proper bushings?
The part number you posted is the wrong one if you have a steel outer shell.

Original bushing is Molded in rubber style. No outer steel shell part number is 4.2140g
Original bushing is rubber with steel outer shell part number is 4.2114g

I have run into similar issue while swapping 93 lightning rear end and suspension to my 96 2wd. Had to cut/burn the old busings out. Went to Advance Auto to get new bushings, but they only sell the larger bushings and not the smaller.??? I have had some other stuff going on and am not able to work on the truck right now, so I hadn't tried to find the bushings any where else yet. Thought it was strange though!

Hey Jason, that truck is awsome. I had owned 3 1st gen Lightnings over the years and have salvaged most of the parts off my last one, that was unfortunately done in by a Jeep Cherokee that ran a stop sign. I am swapping parts to my 96 302 truck. Hope it turns out as nice as yours one day.
