Cummins engines are much larger in many ways compared to PSD and DMAX, however because of their inherent design, they NEED that strength because of the longer stroke, and other factors. There are many cummins engines that have thrown rods, and are stock trucks.
Recently a guy here threw a cummins rod on a 5.9 with 90,000 KM's, and it took out the block, and somehow the transmission got cracked as well.

i think you got it parkland the cummins actually NEEDS bigger rods and stuff but on the other hand thats a good little bit of difference in size ha ha
