Since the truck is out of commission for a bit, leaving me without a way to work and soon school, I needed to get a vehicle that could take over while the truck was being worked on. I learned my lesson earlier this year with buying POS cars.
Story behind those:
First one I got was an 92 Bonneville, did good for about 3 months, then I went to turn out of the gas station the steering got real right then bam! no steering and a dragging sound, I look left and here is traffic coming at me at 50MPH so I hammer down go straight into the median and up the middle. I looked like a moron, but eh what was I supposed to do? Turned out the sub frame mounts were rotted out and decided to break when I was turning. It was one of the scariest things I have ever had happen to me.
The second one I had was a 94(I think I had this car only a week and half lol)Bonneville. Needed a radiator, no problem, take radiator out of no sub frame car, install and keep on going. Worked great until a week later the radiator blew a hole in it again. Decided to just stop trying and took them both back for scrap. In the end I made 200$ in scrap for them lol.
So now my truck is down, so I needed to find something. I don't need two trucks, since I already have one, so I decided on a car that can easily pull out into traffic...
About 10 minutes after those pictures my truck was in it new home for a couple months, my garage lol. I know its off topic, but eh, I never read the General discussion on the boards just what is here so whatever.
What can I say I must love Pontiac lol. The other two were both owned by kids and not very well maintained, so those are a different story altogether. The guy who owned this one was not a kid.
I will be on Woodward this weekend(actually probably every weekend of august). So I can prove anything, except trying to drag race lol, since I have never drove a 6speed before everyday. I can drive a manual but I have not perfected it quite yet. I need some time to get used to it.
I used to go down there and well even in my truck I was scared. Not of someone robbing me, but the fact that a lot of people down there drive in POS hondas with unpainted body kits and they don't really care what happens to their car since it only cost them about $1000 for the car with the parts.
They drive like retards and I have had to swerve twice to avoid getting blasted in the side. My buddy almost got really messed up when one of the morons decided he didnt like the turn around he was in, so he would just turn out right at the end before he made the U, we slam on the brakes, this guy pops over the curb. I still go out there sometimes, but much later at night around midnight just to see whats happening. After the incidents above, we all call it crashiot lol.
Woodward for the most part are people with cars they appreciate and care if they get into an accident or not. So people actually look before they turn and they know what they are doing. Also the cars out there for the most part, are ones that make decent power, and not the honda crew with the 5" monster jap tach, with their cars that run high 16 at the track lol. Just my observation of it. My dad told me all about Gratiot back in the day, but now its kinda got ran down. Now its all at woodward.
By what I have been hearing, basically Gratiot just moved over to Woodward for the most part. Only problem is parking, you go to park your there for 15 minutes and Oakland sheriffs tell you to get out. Then you go to another place same thing. Its nice to watch and right now its going to be quite a few nice cars out since it is getting closer to the dream cruise. Its going to be awkward going to the dream cruise this year in this instead of my truck with 6 people in the cab and 6 people sitting in the bed lol.
The reason I didn't get a mustang was because ever since GM announced they were going to bring the GTO over here, and they showed the picture I wanted it. Then the second fact is around here, every one and their brother has a mustang. Basically for me its ford trucks, GM cars, don't know why but that's what I like. Chrysler, well, there isn't much I like except for the motors in their HD trucks lol. In my eyes every company has their strengths and their weaknesses. You take the bad with the good. This car is going to be my DD while my truck is getting worked on, then its going to be used to be my nice quick vehicle to take out on the weekends, nice days and such. Might as well be one that looks sexy.
No fart cans here! I want to get the 05/06 rear bumper facisa with a nice sounding exhaust, not too loud, just mild. Then up front put a set of cut outs lol.
Forgot to add the P.O put a set of LS6 heads and cam in it , K&N Intake, and had it tuned for the heads and cam at Livernois Motorsports. Dyno'd 338 at the rear wheels. Ill post the sheet tomorrow.
