Good morning, I need to do touchup painting on my 97 Aerostar and not even my local Ford Dealer can get paint code KN. The only close match available is KM which is a lighter blue and shows lighter when painted against the old paint. Does anyone know the crossover color or a place to find a matching paint? I've tried Autozone, Pep Boys and Oreillys. They only show KM options.

KN = Dark Blue: 1995/97 Aerostar & Explorer.
Ford touch up paint (3 ounce) tube part number: ALBZ195006681A
You can prolly get it from Dupli-Color, parts stores like Kragens, Checker carry it.
Automotive Paint supply stores, where body shops buy their supplies can mix it.
EDIT: Current River Ford in Donifan MO has one tube in stock / Carson Ford in Carthage IL has two.
There are 12 other Ford dealers that have one tube each.
Thank you NumberDummy. The KM code was too light. I ended up gonig to my local Oreillys and they mixed the paint to specs. Got a large spray can for $17.00. Dark Lapis Metalic was the name Ford gave the color. Dark Lapis Metalic = Dark Blue .

You cannot go by what specific names Ford uses for paint colors, because they'll use one name for a Mustang, another name for a Lincoln, a third for a Bronco, and all are, in reality, the same exact color.
Only the paint code should be used to determine what's correct and what isn't.
