Im still mad that the rangers let him go. I guess Laird is a good alternative, but we are looking at dealing him away too. If only we could get some elite pitchers.... We might make the playoffs for the second time in history.
Ken Griffey Jr. may get his wish to play in a World Series.
The Cincinnati Reds have traded the slugger to the Chicago White Sox, FOXSports.com reported Thursday. Griffey must approve the deal and it's unclear what he'll choose to do.
It's not yet clear what the Reds would receive for Griffey.
Griffey, as a player with at least 10 years of major-league service and five with the same club, has the right to block any deal. He's blocked at least one deal during his time with the Reds, FOXSports.com reported.
The White Sox would likely use Griffey in the outfield, but they do not have an obvious spot for him, according to the report.
Chicago has Jermaine Dye and Nick Swisher as its corner outfielders, but could use Swisher at first base, thereby limiting the time of first baseman Paul Konerko.
Griffey, 38, is batting .245 this season with a .355 on-base percentage, 15 home runs and 53 RBIs in 359 at-bats. Earlier this season, he hit his 600th home run.
Looks like I'm the only Yank fan here, eh? Pudge's aquisition can't hurt the Bronx Bombers. He's a stud behind the dish. Pudge might not quite have the bat that Posada has but he'll contribute. With Manny causing trouble in Bean town, it's a good time for the Yanks to get hot.
Flame away Boston Fans.
Griffey going to CWS is interesting too. Prolly be a couple more moves around the majors before 1PM PST today.
Bry...i'm a huge fan of the Yanks...i just didn't see this coming.
So there's 2 of us, cool. The trade caught me by surprise also. With Posada going down, something had to be done. Good job Cashman.

Careful what you wish for. I'll be back after lunch to see if Manny is wearing a fish uniform or not.
Personally, I can't imagine Ramirez on any other team. Maybe the Giants will pick him up....that'll show him!
