Need some troubleshooting advice

About 6 months ago I was in the bank drive-thru window and I shut off the engine with the tranny in neutral. When I started it up it sounded like it was hitting in 3 cylinders and shaking the whole truck for about 10 seconds. I shut the engine off, placed the tranny in park and it fired right up and ran right, no problems.
About 4 months ago I forgot about the first incidence and shut the engine off whil the tranny was in neutral, same result as before.
About this same time I noticed some fuel in the valley. I have checked for leaks with the engine running and cannot find any obvious leaks. It is not leaking enough to run down the back of the engine and onto the ground.
Monday 1 out of 3 starts the truck did this firing on 3-cylinder shaking the truck "thing". I pressed on the fuel pedal and it smoother out about 1200 rpm. If you hold her about 1200 for 15-20 seconds the truck runs fine no problems.
Tuesday the engine did this "thing" on 1 out of 3 starts.
Today the engine did this "thing" 32 out of 3 cold starts and the last time I shut the truck off for about 30 seconds and fired it back up. It loped twice and then straightened itself out.
After this is over the truck runs fine. I have been driving it 7-8 hours per day without shutting it off hauling square bales of hay out of the field and absolutely no problems AFTER this intial problem at start-up.
My first thought was maybe the fuel pressure bleeding off, or maybe the fuel pump is getting worse, but then I think back to when it did this 6 months ago just from being started in neutral.
Seems like I remember reading someone on here awhile back about the "neitral sensor" or something like that.
Thanks for reading such a long post I greatly appreciate any advice anyone is willing to share.

the fuel leak is 90% of the time the fuel pump.
the lope could be coincidence/icp/or trans range sensor.
Then I was thinking CPS.
If it still acts up take a look at the HPOP reservoir and see if it is low. If so add oil and start up. If that fixes it then you have a drainback issue.

I do plan to replace the fuel pump this fall when the ranch work slows down, unless the truck breaks down first.
This morning I started the truck in neutral, No Romp.
When backing up to load some cattle an hour or so later the truck would not shift into park.
The cable was loose at the bracket. I pushed it back and wrapped some duct tape around it. Goes into gear fine and starts fine, no more romp, at least not when starting in PArk as usual. Did not try to start it in neutral after applying duct tape.
I suppose I need to look for a more permanent fix when I get time.
Thanks again for the replies.
