My turn for plugs

Well I just got done doing plugs, Motorcraft SP479, just under 2hrs. Truck has 54K miles, plugs that came out had hard white stuff on them and avg. .060+ for a gap. No plugs were loose at all or super tight. New plugs went in with .052 gap, anti-sieze on threads and torqued to 150inlbs. When I got to the 150 click, I pulled just a tad harder to see the extension move a hair and called it good. They felt good and tight. The news ones sure went in easier than the old ones came out do to the anti-sieze. Back passenger side of course was the hardest one.

Just my 2 cents. If you are going to change your plugs, use the Denso Iridiums. You can go at least 70,000 or more before changing. Plus truck will have a little more power.

Once the intake is removed on the drivers side, that bank is relatively easy. The first 3 on the passenger side are easy then the fun begins on the back 2.

Skipper, thanks for the plug input. I went Motorcraft only because of reading through posts they were the best to stay with.
Oh yeah, being 6'9" helps in changing plugs too..

Service interval is 100K for the platinums? Why drop to 70K plugs?

Who would want to leave the plugs unchecked for 70 000?
I check mine every two years regardless.
