[updated:LAST EDITED ON 17-Sep-02 AT 09:22 PM (EST)]Ok First the type of truck: 1981 Ford Ranger F100 I6 300
Now the problem:
Last month the Turn signals stopped working al together, 2 weeks ago the rear 4-ways stopped working also, I checked the wiring and found a short, rewired and the 4-ways worked again. Replaced the Flashers (both, they were pretty nasty). Turn signals still don't work, nolights, no clicking, no flashing arrow on the dash, so all I have left is the Switch in the Column but I've been to every parts store in town and haven't been able to find anyone who stocks it. Any clues as to where I can find it??
Sorry might as well add one more problem while I'm at it:
When I start the engine after its sat for more than a couple hours it dies automatically if I don't rev it for 3-4 minutes.. WHat's up with that??
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 17-Sep-02 AT 09:24 PM (EST)]I don't know if this could be your problem but on my truck I had a intermittent problem with the turn signals that was caused by the plug that the flasher plugged into. One of the connectors had gotten pushed down into the socket. I couldn't get it back into the right position so I cut both wires behind the fuse block and put quick connects on the wires. I then plugged the wires onto the flasher relay. This solved my problem.
This may seem real simple, and I am sure you checked already....but is the fuse blown ??
Also check for 12 volts to the flasher and out of it before you run off and but a switch. Usually they break one side at a time.
