I've got a '01 F-150 King Ranch SuperCrew. I've got a set of 6" KC Daylighters that I want to mount on the front bumper. I looked at it yesterday and there is a plastic trim/cap on the top of the front bumper. It appears to be hollow between that and the actual steel bumper. I'm worried about being able to tighten up the mounting for lights without crushing or rippling the plastic trim piece and be able to mount the lights sturdy enough. Thought maybe I can slide a spacer in to fill the hollow gap and then tight everything down??? Anyone else mount any up right the bumper like this??? I wanted to ask before I start drilling holes...
Agreed it is nothing but a piece of plastic to make the front end look better. I mounted 4 daylighters on my grille guard and loved them, I'd say go behind the grille or buy a bull bar/grille guard to put them on.
Yea I know the plastic is to flimsy to mount the lights to...I was going to drill through that and and the steel bumper....but I'm going to look at mounting them behind the grill. There looks to be a fiberglass/plastic cross piece behind the grill, is that what you're mounting them too?
