Weird Problem, Popping noises
Ok, I dont know how to explain this, but I will do my best.
The other day, I was in some grass, it had been raining a bit, and considering my tires are about bald. I thought it would be fun, so I took off from a dead stop, left about 60ft of ruts. Now, while I was acceleratng, I heard/felt popping, like the tire was coming off the ground. It sounded like it was coming from under neath my feet. I am aware of TSB
But it wasnt a vibration, more of a popping noise. Keep in mind, this was in 2WD. Now, I noticed when I am in the sand dunes around here, in 4WD, just kinding barely crawling around, I hear the same popping noise. It doesnt sound like its hurting anything, but is VERY annoying. Anything to look out for?
Truck is 2004 f150 STX 4wd with the 4.6l and 47k miles on the clock.

theres a problem that some people have posted about on here about thier hubs trying to engage. even when your not selecting 4wd. turns out its the vacume line going to the hubs. im not sure this is even close to what your problem is but its the only thing i can think of. good luck
