Geez, just take it in before your truck burns to the ground, taking anything around it (like your garage or home) on the same trip.

Click SEARCH and enter "05S28" or "cruise recall" for the hundreds of previous discussions of this problem.

i've seen my fair share of burned down trucks(online). i work at the dealer....it's free, and takes less than 10 minutes....get it done asap. if you can't get to the dealer anytime soon, unplug the connector at the sensor on the master cylinder...that will get you buy, but you won't be able to use your cruise control.

I also read a lot about this recall, I took mine to both of the local Ford $tealerships in town (I live in Mexico) and they would'nt even bother about this in my case because my car is Texas registered. They told me to take it to a $tealership in USA. They also would'nt answer any questions. So after reading and googling a little about this I decided to put an inline 5 amp fuse on the hot wire which leads to the plug that goes to the brake cylinder just to be on the safe side, I also check from time to time that there is no brake fluid leaking into the electrical plug, I hope this will help to avoid any fire. Comments on this will be appreciated.

Your actions are prudent.

I'd suggest the following things:

Just order the kit with switch from a US dealer. Uith USPS postage, shouldn't be more than $30.

Verify that you got the hot lead going TO the switch, not coming from it to the module.

If in doubt, just unplug the switch unless you plan on using the cruise for that trip.
