Hi all, I've had problems since day one with this rig, especially around 40-50 mph. The truck either gets like a wheel hop, or a weird feeling in the pedal around those speeds only. I've been to the dealer time and again. I've read on hear somewhere that it seems to be aproblem with the long wheel base which i have. I've added bilstein shocks, and played with tire pressures. I'm getting the tires force balanced tomorrow and alignment checked. The service guy (not a ford guy) says that the E range 10 ply tires are very hard on the trucks. If i'm not going to be hauling heavy stuff in the future, can i go with a less ply tire to ease up the ride? I'm a guy going from the soft ride of a f150 for years to a tank of a 250 ride. I love the truck exept the hard ride and vibration, thanks. Oh, does anyone know if my year truck would have adjustable camber sleeves? 2007 f250.

Reason: spelling
I guess this is on the 07 250 in your sig? How did you get 4.30 rears in a 250? Custom job? With a 4.30 rear end, I wonder what kind of rear springs you have. If the rear end was custom, make sure the drive shaft was put back in correctly and isn't 180 deg off. Do you have a carrier bearing in the ext. cab? If so you might want to check that also.
If you're concerned about the tires, try changing the air pressure to see if that makes a difference. What tire pressure are you running in the rear when empty? See if 50 psi changes your ride. Also if you don't haul much, why the 4.30 rear end, when 3.73 was the standard?
Thanks for th reply Chris. Yes it's the 250, i ordered the truck with the 4.30 rears. The factory Ford rep from michigan actually came in after my truck had been in the shop for over 3 weeks brand new and said the driveshaft was out 5000ths of something or other. My door jam says 65 psi front and 65 rear cold, but have tried 52, 55, and 60 psi with the 52 giving a smoother ride but harder in the steering. i believe it does have a carrier bearing that they checked also. It's funny how it starts 40 mph - 50 give or take in between.
Ordering the 4.30 gearing has no determination on the springs. Spring selection is based on packages ordered and GVW.
I would be very hesitant to step down to a Load Range D tire, especially with a CC long bed truck. If you figure the truck weight at around 8500 pounds, that means each axle supports 4250 +/- and each tire supports 2125 +/-. The front actaully support more, the rear less. On a D range tire you're actually very close to maxing out the tire without even putting anything in the truck!
If you read the TSB on this "bounce" problem it mentions it applys to trucks with factory trailer hitches. You might want to remove the hitch receiver from the frame and see if the bouncing stops. My theory is that this has something to do with the harmonic frequency of the frame. the addition of the trailer hitch changes the harmonic frequency enough that the harmonic energy builds between 40-50 MPH and causes this bounce. If that is true, tire, shocks and springs will not cure the problem, only mask it a bit.
ROAD FORCED BALANCING!!!!! Just had it done on my 2005 F250 diesel today! MAJOR difference..along with the new shocks I put on 2 weeks ago..the bounce/vibration is gone..rides way better then when it was new.
Thank you for the reply's guys. Redford, what then if it was to be the hitch? Will post about the balance and alignment, it's in the shop now. Thanks for that input also, i never heard of the hitch causing anything like that. Anyone know about the camber sleeves if they are adjustable and would that fall under the warranty yet? Thank you, Al.
