I would recommend putting your money towards a chip instead of a shift kit. Lot less work and it will deliver more of what you want (better shifts and no rev limiter). 
Your tranny is most likely the E40D. I think there is a tag on the side of your tranny that labels it as such.

If you find out that you have the E4OD, then I've got 4 brand new B&M Electronic Shiftplus kits available if you are interested? They are easy to hookup=two wires to the PCM. Can be installed in 30-45 minutes without taking the transmission apart!
